About Us

The mission of the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC), one of Florida’s three regional educational service organizations (F.S. 1001.451), is to enable member and participating school districts to achieve their goals by providing leadership and support services, maximizing the use of resources, linking schools, and facilitating communication.

Providing Leadership and Support Services

PAEC consultants help administrators and teachers best use PAEC’s services by providing assistance as well as referrals. PAEC’s Special Areas Program provides services to exceptional education student educators and families. The Consortium’s Supplemental Services Program coordinates migrant, homeless, impoverished and English-language-challenged student education programs.

Maximizing the Use of Resources

PAEC’s FloridaLearns Academy is a professional development system designed to keep teachers in the classroom while providing world-class educator training.

Linking Schools

PAEC applies for and administers grants under the guidance of its Board of Directors. By joining together, PAEC districts become a formidable funding applicant that has the potential to impact a greater number of students than would an individual district.

Facilitating Communication

PAEC’s two Strategic Planning initiatives brought together administrators, teachers and education staff from member districts to develop the Consortium’s mission statement, beliefs, strategic objectives and strategies. It was through this process that improving communication consortium-wide became a significant purpose of PAEC.
